Please bring a 40" circular needle or longer and a bulky weight yarn if would like to knit our simple pattern with Jennifer Schermerhorn. 10:00am -Loop it Baby - the most asked for technique at Settlers Farm is the Magic Loop. We'll show you how to cast on and adapt the technique for any circular project. If you'd like to try, bring a 32" circular needle or longer. 11:00am - Spindle Spinning - learn to spin the cheap and portable way with Laura Mead. 12:30pm - Drum Carding for pleasure and beauty! - learn to make a traditional and/or wild and crazy batt with Nikol Lohr. 1:30pm - Contemplative Spinning - spinning as meditation and stress relief with bio-energy expert Laura Mead. 2:30pm - Using a knitter's loom - simple weaving for using up your odds and ends and bits of handspun. Demo by Nikol Lohr. 3:00pm- It's Hip to be Square - design possibilities are endless with the mitered square! Bring some yarn and matching needles to cast on with Jerri from The Yarn Peddler. |
